INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER – VOLUME 47, NUMBER 11

Facility Planning and construction is benefiting from the nascent use of drone technology, according to Healthcare Design magazine.

The healthcare construction sector is attaching cameras to the flying devices to document construction and inspect hard-to-reach or extremely tall buildings. Instead of using a crane, lots of time and trial and error to photograph construction welds on the 30th floor each week, drones can accomplish the task with minimal effort multiple times a day.

The resulting photos can help manage project documentation and inspections, visually guaranteeing owners the quality, safety and structure of a building, the magazine reported.
