On September 30, 2025, the Industrial Engineering Department of BINUS University proudly hosted a sharing session designed especially for international exchange students from various countries currently studying at the university. With participants from diverse cultural and academic backgrounds, the session highlighted the critical importance of seamlessly integrating people, processes, and technology to build supply chains that are both efficient and adaptive to challenges at local and global levels.

This initiative is part of the department’s broader commitment—spearheaded by Dr. Ir. Rienna Oktarina, S.T., M.T., CSCA, Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering—to ensure that international exchange students not only gain academic enrichment but also experience meaningful professional and intercultural engagement during their time at BINUS University.

The highlight of the event was the return of Rizki Ayu Ariska Indriyani, S.T. (Riska), an accomplished alumna of BINUS University’s Industrial Engineering Department and now a Product Supply Senior Manager at a leading multinational FMCG company. Riska’s professional growth reflects the power of education, resilience, and a global outlook in shaping successful careers. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from BINUS University, she began as an intern at her current company and rose swiftly to senior management within just four years, making her a testament to the power of resilience and expertise in the ever-evolving field of supply chain management.

In her presentation, “Integrated Working System as the Backbone of Supply Chain Excellence,” Riska emphasized the critical need for seamless integration of people, processes, and technology to build supply chains that are not only efficient but also adaptive to local and global challenges. She shared practical insights from her career, illustrating how effective collaboration across different functions and regions is essential for achieving supply chain excellence in today’s interconnected business environment.

The interactive session extended beyond the lecture, with Riska engaging students in a lively Q&A discussion. The students were particularly interested in learning about her professional experiences, especially her role in managing supply chain operations in Indonesia and how she coordinates effectively with both regional offices and the company’s headquarters. This dialogue not only gave them valuable real-world insights but also created an engaging learning experience. The discussion was moderated by Aditya Andika, S.T., M.B.A., a faculty member of the department, ensuring a supportive and interactive atmosphere throughout.

In closing, Riska encouraged participants to view supply chain management as a field that demands both technical expertise and strategic thinking. She emphasized that success in this domain relies on continuous learning, adaptability, and the ability to connect local practices with global standards. Her journey stands as a source of pride for BINUS University and an inspiration for students preparing to take on future challenges in an increasingly interconnected world.
