BINUS Industrial Engineering Welcomes New Students Through Pre-FYP Day One
The Industrial Engineering Department of BINUS University successfully conducted the first day of its Pre-FYP event on July 9th, 2026. Held at HD08, the event aimed to introduce prospective students to the Industrial Engineering program, providing them with an overview of academic activities, learning experiences, and opportunities within the department.

The event began with participant registration, followed by an opening session hosted by the masters of ceremony. During this session, participants were welcomed and given a brief introduction to the Pre-FYP program, including an overview of the activities scheduled across the two-day event.
The opening remarks were delivered by the Head of the Industrial Engineering Department, who warmly welcomed the participants and shared insights into the department’s vision and commitment to developing future engineers. This was followed by a lecturer introduction session, where students had the opportunity to become familiar with the academic staff who will guide them throughout their studies.

The main session of the day featured an introduction to Industrial Engineering, providing participants with a general understanding of the discipline. The session highlighted how Industrial Engineering integrates various aspects such as systems optimization, efficiency improvement, and problem-solving in real-world industrial environments. Students were also introduced to the learning approach and academic structure within the program.
In addition, participants were introduced to student organizations, including HIMTRI and IISE. These sessions provided insights into student life, organizational activities, and the benefits of joining such communities. Through these introductions, participants gained a better understanding of how they can develop both academically and personally during their university journey.

The event continued with an interactive Q&A session, where participants were encouraged to ask questions and engage directly with lecturers, laboratory staff, and student representatives. This session allowed students to gain further clarity about the program, campus life, and future opportunities in Industrial Engineering.

The first day concluded with a closing session, where participants were reminded about the upcoming activities on the second day, including laboratory explorations. Overall, Day 1 of the Pre-FYP event successfully provided a comprehensive introduction to the Industrial Engineering program, setting the stage for a more hands-on experience in the following sessions.
