Jakarta, September 4–6, 2026. The Industrial Engineering Department at BINUS University participated in the Globalicious 2026 event, held at BINUS @Anggrek over three days, from September 4 to 6, 2026. This event provided high school students with an opportunity to learn more about the various degree programs available at BINUS University through direct interaction at each booth.

During the event, the Industrial Engineering booth served as a space for students to gain information about the field of Industrial Engineering, ranging from an overview of the degree program to examples of how the knowledge gained is applied through student projects and the technologies on display.

On September 4, 2026, the Industrial Engineering open booth event took place from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. WIB. The event was led by laboratory assistants Ira Widiastuti, S.T., and Bayu Pamungkas W., S.T., and supported by Laboratory Head Amir Tjolleng, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D.

Through the open booth, high school students were able to discuss and ask various questions about Industrial Engineering directly. The lab assistants provided explanations regarding the academic field of Industrial Engineering as well as an overview of its activities and applications within the university setting.

One of the things that caught the participants’ attention was the various projects displayed at the booth, one of which was Scotera, a scooter designed by Industrial Engineering students. The presence of this project provided a firsthand look at how concepts learned in Industrial Engineering can be applied in the product design and development process.

In addition to student projects, the Industrial Engineering booth also featured a Virtual Reality (VR) experience that participants could try firsthand. The use of VR serves as a way to explore the application of technology in learning, while also providing students with an interactive experience during their visit to the booth.

Through this experience, participants not only gained information about Industrial Engineering through explanations but were also able to see and try out the technologies and project outcomes on display firsthand.

The Globalicious 2026 series continues on September 5, 2026. The Industrial Engineering open booth took place from 9:15–10:00 a.m. WIB and was staffed by Laboratory Assistants Ailyn Sho and Amir Tjolleng, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D., with support from Zaidan Indityo Muflih and Muhammad Kevin P., S.T., M.T.

The open booth event once again provided students with the opportunity to learn about Industrial Engineering and interact directly with the staff on duty. Participants were able to obtain information about the study program while viewing the various exhibits at the booth.

In addition to the open booths, a workshop led by Amir Tjolleng, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D. and Ailyn Sho, was held on the second day. The workshop took place in a classroom setting and followed a more structured format than the open booths.

During the workshop, participants received material related to an introduction to Industrial Engineering and took part in various games and quizzes. Through these interactive activities, participants not only received the material but were also able to actively engage throughout the event.

On September 6, 2026, the Industrial Engineering open booth event was scheduled to take place from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. WIB and was to be staffed by Laboratory Assistants Lydhia Firlanda P.M., S.T. and Zaidan Indityo Muflih.

However, on the third day, environmental conditions began to be affected by the spread of volcanic ash across several regions of Java, extending as far as Jakarta. In light of these conditions, the open booth event on the third day was ultimately canceled as a precaution to prioritize the safety of all participants and those involved in the event.

Although the series of activities on the third day could not be held, the Industrial Engineering Department’s participation in Globalicious 2026 over the previous two days provided high school students with the opportunity to gain firsthand experience and information about the field of Industrial Engineering.

Through the open booth and workshop activities, BINUS University’s Industrial Engineering program sought to provide an introduction to the program that was not only informative but also interactive and closely tied to real-world experiences. Various student projects, the use of VR technology, and workshop activities were all part of the effort to demonstrate how Industrial Engineering integrates human, technological, design, and systems aspects into the learning process.
