Industrial Engineering students from BINUS University have once again achieved success through the VBL Fortis team at the ISEEC UI 2026 Mini Case Competition (MCC). The team, consisting of Louis Hartanto Utomo, Venda Patricia Djunaidi, and Bangkit Pramesta Yulianto, secured 2nd place in the competition held on August 18, 2026. This achievement highlights the participation of Industrial Engineering students in a competition that challenges their analytical and problem-solving skills in addressing real-world industrial issues.

The competition provided participants with the opportunity to tackle real-world industrial challenges that required teamwork, analytical skills, and the development of solutions to the problems presented. VBL Fortis approached the competition by combining problem-solving skills and collaboration to address case studies relevant to real-world industrial conditions. This experience is part of the process through which students apply the skills they have developed in the field of Industrial Engineering.

One of the challenges faced by VBL Fortis was a case study titled “Building Resilience Across Java’s Flood-Disrupted Frozen Food Network.” The case study examined efforts to build resilience in the frozen food distribution network on the island of Java when facing disruptions caused by flooding. The discussion covered aspects of supply, inventory, transportation, and service that needed to be managed to address these conditions.

In completing this case study, VBL Fortis demonstrated the ability to combine teamwork, analytical thinking, and practical problem-solving. These skills are necessary to transform complex problems into more targeted solutions that are relevant to the conditions at hand. The application of analytical and problem-solving skills through case studies also serves as a means of developing the competencies of Industrial Engineering students in addressing various challenges in the industrial sector.

VBL Fortis’s achievement in the ISEEC UI 2026 Mini Case Competition serves as a recognition of the teamwork and skills demonstrated throughout the competition.
