Industrial Online Competition 2024
Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) BINUS University Student Chapter #716, as part of industrial engineering, BINUS University, aims to provide further insight and knowledge as well as various industrial rules applied in the world. IISE BINUS aspires to be an international organization that produces talented graduates of industrial engineering students who can thrive in any situation. The organization is motivated to achieve its goals by conducting events, one of which is the Industrial Online Competition.
As an international organization, IISE BINUS University Student Chapter #716 members are motivated to keep up with the latest trends regarding industrial engineering issues all around the world. In the modern era and today’s technological world, industry is developing more rapidly than before. The more industries that emerge, the more waste is produced on this earth. The younger generation, especially university students, are challenged to find ways to reduce waste to a minimum level in this modern industrial era 4.0. Therefore, the young generation is expected to have specific knowledge and skills to survive in this era. The skills required in Industry 4.0 are critical and creative thinking, competitive thinking, innovation skills, teamwork, and adaptability. In this scenario, IISE BINUS University decided to hold an annual online-based competition, known as the Industrial Online Competition, to achieve the goals and improve engineering students’ skills. This year’s IOC 2024 consists of a poster competition and a business case competition.
The main theme of IOC 2024 is “Towards “Zero Waste”: Eco-Sustainability in the Era of Industry 4.0”. The competition will be conducted entirely online. By participating in this competition, the participants are expected to gain a better understanding of the importance of reducing waste for environmental sustainability. Not limited to that, the participants are also expected to be able to improve their problem-solving, critical thinking, and innovation abilities.
