Innovative Logistics Research Earns Fitriadi 2nd Winner Place at IEOM Asia Pacific Conference
Bali, Indonesia – August 7, 2025 – Fitriadi, an undergraduate student, proudly secured 2nd Winner Place in the Undergraduate Research Competition sponsored by Daikin Applied Online, a prestigious event that forms part of the IEOM Undergraduate STEM Research Competition. The competition recognizes outstanding student research presentations in the field of industrial engineering and operations management.
The event was held during the 6th Asia Pacific International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management (IEOM), hosted by the Faculty of Engineering and Planning, Universitas Warmadewa Bali, from August 5–7, 2025. The conference was co-hosted by Narotama University and Universitas Pakuan, attracting participants from across the Asia-Pacific region.
Fitriadi presented a research paper entitled:
“Designing Product Placement Strategy for Outbound Loading Process in C4 Container Trucks at PT XYZ.”
The study highlights the critical role of logistics distribution efficiency in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry, focusing on optimizing container space utilization. By applying linear programming models and EasyCargo simulations, the proposed strategy achieved significant improvements, including:
- 5.39% increase in Vehicle Space Optimization (VSO)
- 0.09% reduction in cost ratio
- Increased shipment value per delivery
These findings demonstrate how data-driven approaches can enhance truck capacity, reduce operational costs, and provide long-term competitive advantages for companies in the logistics sector.
Fitriadi’s achievement was made possible under the supervision of Dr. Ir. Ho Hwi Chie, M.Sc., IPU, ASEAN Eng. and Amir Tjolleng, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D., whose guidance played a pivotal role in shaping the research.
This recognition not only celebrates Fitriadi’s academic excellence but also emphasizes the growing importance of innovation and research in advancing logistics and industrial engineering practices across industries.
