International Exchange Students from Europe Explored Global Supply Chain Challenges with BINUS Industrial Engineering Alumna Jessica Andreas
On September 24, 2025, the Department of Industrial Engineering at BINUS University proudly hosted a special sharing session on Global Supply Chain, designed exclusively for a group of international exchange students from various European Union (EU) countries. This event was part of the department’s ongoing efforts—led by Dr. Ir. Rienna Oktarina, S.T., M.T., CSCA, the Head of the Department—to offer meaningful academic and cultural opportunities for its global learning community, fostering awareness of important global issues while celebrating the diverse contributions of its alumni.
The sharing session featured Jessica Andreas, S.T., M.Bus., a distinguished alumna of the department, who returned to campus to share her academic insights and perspectives on emerging challenges in global supply chains. With a career rooted in innovation and impact, Jessica has established herself as a skilled Product Manager in the e-commerce sector. After completing her Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering at BINUS University, she launched her career at one of Indonesia’s leading e-commerce companies, where she led several innovative product enhancements. Her work included optimizing checkout processes, launching personalized recommendation engines, and improving overall site performance—initiatives that significantly enhanced user satisfaction and conversion rates.
Most recently, Jessica earned her Master’s degree in Business (Supply Chain Management Specialisation) from Monash University, Australia, further sharpening her expertise in global logistics, operations, and sustainable supply networks. Her presentation focused on sustainability and accountability in global supply chains, two themes that are increasingly critical in today’s interconnected world.
During the seminar, Jessica presented a detailed Global Supply Chain case study analysis, highlighting the environmental, ethical, and operational challenges faced by today’s interconnected supply networks. She also engaged students in a dynamic Q&A session, fostering thoughtful discussion and cultural exchange. The session was moderated by Aditya Andika, S.T., M.B.A., a faculty member of the department, who helped facilitate the conversation and ensure an engaging, supportive learning environment for all participants.
As an alumna, Jessica’s return to campus was a valued opportunity for inspiring both international exchange students and the department’s own students. She kindly shared her experiences and insights, hoping to encourage others as they explore their own paths in the global community. Her journey is a reminder of the solid foundation that BINUS University and its Department of Industrial Engineering provide to students preparing for future challenges.
